Jimmy A. Domingo started his photography career during the waning years of the Martial Law regime in the 80s while completing a Civil Engineering degree. He continues to produce images for numerous news publications and international wire photo agencies. He has done editorial and documentary assignments in the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, China, Thailand and Vietnam for several local and international and development agencies and his photographs have been included in exhibitions and books.

He is a lecturer in the Communications Department of the Ateneo de Manila University and in the Photojournalism Program of the Konrad Adenauer Asian Center for Journalism at the Ateneo de Manila University (ACFJ), which he also coordinated from January 2007 up to the May 2011. He is also a part-time lecturer on photography and photojournalism at the De La Salle University in Manila.

Domingo was one of the tutors, in Nigeria in October 2009, of the Road to 2010, a training program for African photojournalists organized by the World Press Photo and African Media Online. He co-directed the 2006 Asia-Europe Young Photographers Forum in Manila, a project of the Asia-Europe Foundation and World Press Photo.

As one of the founding members of the Philippine Center for Photojournalism, he chaired it in 2004-2006 and is currently a board member. As an officer of the organization, he spearheaded professional workshops and photography competitions.

He is a member of the South East Asia Nominating Committee of the World Press Photo Joop Swart Masterclass and a member of the Nominating Board of the All Roads Photography Project of the National Geographic Magazine.

He had had the opportunity to be member of the jury of competitions including the PLCPD-UN Population Fund’s Pop-Dev Media Awards, 6th China International Press Photo Contest (2010) and United Nations Information Center’s International Year of Forest Photo Competition (2011).
